I had the opportunity to work with Black Woman Stitch in towards the end of 2023. They had commissined me to create an artwork featuring their central theme around black woman and the craft of sewing, as a form of financial and social empowerment. My approach centered around using a carpet to show the elements related to sewing, along with the use of a bold and colourful graphic language. It was truly a joy to see this printed in their 2024 calendar, featuring my artwork on their cover page.
