A 72-page flagship report developed by Briter with Catalyst Fund, FSD Africa, BFA Global, and Africa: The Big Deal. The study moves past headline funding totals to ask how Africa’s climate innovation ecosystem is actually maturing. I led the editorial design — the grid, type system, and visual language carrying seven chapters, nineteen data visualisations, and a three-level taxonomy of clusters, applications, and solutions.

The analysis covers $6.35 billion raised by 779 companies between 2016 and 2025, drawn from over 1,400 disclosed deals. Its central move is adapting Carlota Perez’s technological-revolution framework — Irruption, Frenzy, Turning Point, Synergy, Maturity — into a lens for reading where each cluster actually sits. The signature graphic maps every application’s movement from 2022 to 2025, showing most of the ecosystem still short of the turning point even as ClimateTech reached nearly 40% of disclosed African venture funding in 2025.
